a compromise where congress would have two houses. in one house, each state would have equal representation, and in the other representation would be based on each state's population.
connecticut compromise, great compromise
a compromise between the North and the South where the south agreed that congress could regulate trade between the states/countries, and in exchange the north agreed that congress could not interfere with the slave trade for 20 years or tax exports

group who supported the new constitution and included many of the delegates who had helped write the document.
federalists
group who openly opposed the constitution because they felt it gave too much power to the national government and took too much away from the states. also, the constitution lacked a bill of rights
anti-federalists
what is the difference between veto and override?
to veto is to reject, and the president may veto a bill. to override is to defeat, and congress can override a president's veto.
branch of government that is the court system, including the supreme court. Decides meaning of laws and to declare that a law goes against the Constitution.

branch of government that includes the president, vice, etc. who makes sure the laws are carried out

how do the 3 branches of government balance eachother's powers?
the president can veto a bill congress proposes and keep it from becoming a law.
Congress can also override the president's veto.
The judicial branch can check the power of both legislative and executive branches.
