Broken strands, and corrosion, do not clean with solvent they are self-lubricating and solvents will remove the lube. Check around pulleys for ware. Reverse twist to look inside.Lube with LPS-2. |

These areas are hard to see during a preflight. Need to search for hinge corrosion, on spoilers and flaps. Use a protectant like LPS-3 or Wd-40. |

Yes, they are high carbon and brittle, may provide disimilar metal for galvanic corrosion. |

Battery Compartment - acidic, need to vent overboard. Lead-acid use bicarbonate of soda, Ni-cads use Boric Acid or Vinegar. |
