Untitled Donald Judd, American, Minimalist, 1969. Boxes. Installed into wall rather than its traditional viewing methods. Gives view of inside and of flaws -- screws, nicks, cuts -- made by hand. 0 CFraissi Wed, 02 Jun 2010 14:54:49 GMT view revision history
Red Blue Green Ellsworth Kelly, American, Minimalist, 1963. Inspired by Picasso -- wanted to bring modern art to America. Deceptively simple -- so carefully done it removes all emotional aspects, looks as if it was made by a machine. 0 CFraissi Wed, 02 Jun 2010 14:54:49 GMT view revision history
Mountains and Sea Helen Frankenthaler, American, Post-Painterly Abstraction, 1952. Spontaneous appearance, but highly controlled. Used turpentine to water down -- canvas is stained, not painted (completely flat). Mountains and sea helped Americans accept because it seemed representational, even though it wasn't -- evoked feelings, but didn't show. 0 CFraissi Wed, 02 Jun 2010 14:54:49 GMT view revision history
